The Dream Bliss cymbals are completely hand-hammered into shape, whereas some Western cymbals are pressed into shape hydraulically and then hammered. The brute
strength required to do this explains, perhaps, why these cymbals are available only in relatively light weights. The totally hand-made process accounts for the unique, mottled appearance, soft feel, relaxed metal tension, and diverse sonic properties.
The rippled surface is due to the eccentricities inherent in intensive hand labor and raw material, which explains the number of sonic “sweet spots” on these cymbals, as a result of variations in metal distribution.
All Dream Bliss cymbals (Dream B series cymbals) feature a fairly flat profile, which lends a low fundamental pitch. They commence wobbling and convulsing, seemingly fighting against themselves,
generating a thundering low wash that augments complex highs and moderate mid tones.
Bells are of modest size, while the lathing is light, narrow, and tightly packed. Although this lathing style tends to minimize harmonics and provide focus, focus is not the strongest point of this line. Rather, the appeal lies in an extremely guttural, trashy, and exotic response equal to that of the most sought-after ancient Turkish cymbals
Drummers employing maple sticks (and who play with a light touch) will find these controllable and immediately useable.
Make no mistake; these are not for every drummer. These are pro-level cymbals, totally crafted by hand, deep in pitch, frothing with thick overtones, and swelling in a manner that are begging to be tamed.
We do believe every drummer has an individual voice. So give a listen; one of them will have your sound. Then Come find your heavenly Dream Bliss.
