Gon Bops Congas - California Series 55th Anniversary Limited Edition

To celebrate the Gon Bops historic 55th year we proudly offer these limited edition congas and bongos.  Available in all California Series sizes, in Vintage Oak Satin Oil with Chrome Hardware and USA side plates.

To make such shells is no easy task. The lumber has to be hand-selected from only the finest air-dried quarter-sawn Red Appalachian Oak. Each stave is meticulously cut and bent by hand, steel rings hand-hammered into place, then cured for months. The shells are then hand-glued and again, hammered to shape. Many months later they are ready to be turned by an artisan who has made these shells the old-fashioned way for more than 20 years. Once they are sanded to a baby-soft finish, nearly one full year has passed. So why do we go through all of this to make a conga?  It’s simple, because we refuse to compromise.
