Mapex ushers in a new era of Black Panther by introducing a new lineup of 14 snare drum models, which includes the usual maple, steel, brass and bronze shells as well as more unusual materials such as cherry and walnut, each with its own distinctive personality.

Bridging the gap between flanged hoops and die cast hoops, the Mapex Black Panther series snares feature the sonic saver hoop that create a profile that reduces the wear and tear to both sticks and hands while dramatically enhancing the response  and feel of every rim shot. Being lighter than the conventional die cast hoops, these give a natural percussive sound to the mapex snare drum with much greater resonance.

With their piston style throw off and a self lubricating cylinder drive strainer, the Mapex Black Panther snares ensure smooth and precise control of their stainless steel snare wires tension.

The adjustment dials employ a “micro lock” technology that provides a means to precisely tune, with a tacile “click” as it’s tuned. The design quality infused into these snare drums ensure that the tune holds very well, snapping with a tighter tune, and emitting  rich, deep tones at a looser tune. The highly regarded premium Remo heads with coated Ambassador batter head provide a full, well rounded, flavorful sound.
